Moving to Canada means leaving most things behind in our home country, however we are still able to stay organized and look professional with the use of these apps. Whether i am on the move or unable to get access to a library due to their limited opening hours (especially when there is a snow storm), I have always found these apps useful.
Whether you are still in a temporary accommodation, on the move or are yet to buy a scanner after landing CamScanner is on the top list of must have apps on your phone or tablet. If you don’t know already, paperwork is taken seriously in Canada as it is important to keep records. With CamScanner, you are able to scan both single and multiple pages of documents and ID cards at once, this top app also enables you to email or save your scanned documents directly on your phone.
2. Adobe Fill & Sign
This app came in very handy for me as a newcomer in Canada, I was able to fill in forms on the go and make use of it’s electronic signature feature. For the few organizations that are yet to accept electronic signature, I still liked using adobe fill and sign just for the clean look it gave me when filling in forms and documents.
3. Google Calendar
Most services in Canada are rendered on an appointment basis, as at mid 2018 I already had a few appointments lined up for 2019. Keeping up with these alongside daily life can be challenging but thanks to google calendar (my ever able assistant) i was able to keep up. Google calendar has features that reminds you of future and daily appointments, it also shows you public holidays across Canada according to province.
If you have friends and families across the world, this app comes in very handy, I have also been guilty of sending a link to friends who decide to call me at 2:00 am (Canadian time) and interrupt my much needed sleep due to time difference. If you like me have friends who constantly forget that we run on different time zones, you can send them a link for download and suggest they check your city time before calling (lol). If you also have meetings across various time zones within Canada, this app is a must have.
